Why PC-Progressives Love Covert Action

Congratulations to Barack Obama and John Brennan. They evidently used the resources available to them to implement George W. Bush’s policies in the Global War on Terror. A quick and lethal covert action followed a decade-long intelligence operation, that began with harsh CIA interrogations, and surely included massive use of all types of intelligence resources available—collection and analysis.

The Osama hit provides a glimpse into an unsettling reality. PC-Progressives like Obama always are loudly vocal in declaring their humaneness, and love for mankind. And they are loudly vocal in chastising evil conservatives for war-mongering and immoral use of covert action. Yet, when the PC-Progressives actually gain power, they become addicted to covert action.

Obama and his clique love covert operations. They’ve demonstrated that in the Global War on Terror (or “overseas contingency operations building bridges to Islamic extremists”). Instead of actually pursuing the war in Afghanistan with the tools in place—soldiers and Marines—they prefer Predator strikes in the hinterlands of Pakistan. The number of these covert action killings has soared from 2009 to 2011—with estimates of 5 dead in 2009 under Bush growing to several hundred dead in 2010 under Obama.

Because these are covert attacks, Obama and his clique don’t have to acknowledge the facts. They can bluster and bloviate, and deny, appearing all things to all people. Their political base, the PC-Progressives, pretend they don’t notice the carnage. The anti-terrorism side notices and tacitly approves. This having-your-cake-and-eating-it-too technique is pure PC-Progressivism. Their whole political philosophy is built on a foundation of lies.

Loving humanity while hating individual humans is the fundamental core of PC-Progressivism—which is a pure lie. Hating capitalism while reveling in the benefits of the American economy is living a lie. Babbling about “saving the earth” from carbon, all the while globe-trotting in a private jet is a lie. Standing up for “labor” while destroying entire industries with union goon-squads is a lie. Pick any PC-Progressive position, and you’ll see that it is built on a lie.

So, the Obama clique’s love of covert action is not surprising. However, those who care about the truth, the future of our country, and the health of our vital national security organizations should pay careful attention to the mendacious actions carried out in our name in Libya.

With a straight face, Obama declared that there were no “boots on the ground” in Libya. The next day his clique leaked the fact that CIA covert operators were on the ground. With a straight face, the Obama clique declared that our goal was not regime change, but rather humanitarian relief.

Within hours of that declaration, covert humanitarian action was unleashed on the Libyans. Humanitarian cruise missiles delivered humanitarian relief to Khadafy’s residential compound.

The CIA leadership now is more political than ever. Never in its history has a pure political hack been in charge, before now. Never has an administration been so enamored of lying and hiding its true foreign policies behind covert action.

The Libyan operation has all the makings of a disaster for the CIA. In the Bay of Pigs operation, the Kennedy brothers inherited a plan already in motion, with covert teams in the process of training upon the Kennedys’ arrival at the White House. Careful planning for a covert invasion was already in motion. The Kennedys gave their approval to continue.  

The Kennedys, much like Obama, were concerned about their image. Unlike Obama, at least the President had served in the military, and had some idea about combat operations. Even so, after approving the covert invasion, while denying there were boots on the ground to the public, the Kennedys ultimately lost their nerve. As communist Cubans massacred the CIA’s invasion force on the ground in the Bay of Pigs, the indigenous commanders begged their CIA masters for air support.

The Kennedys pondered the emergency requests from Agency management, dithered, and finally denied the request. The invasion was crushed by overwhelming Cuban ground and air attacks. 1200 Cuban exiles of the invasion brigade were captured, scores died. The Kennedys’ response was to demand more covert actions—assassination plans against Castro, spiraling into lunacy and tarnishing the CIA’s reputation when revealed later.

The disaster inflicted on the Agency by the Kennedys began a cycle of degeneration that endured until 9/11.  Successive administrations, with the exception of Ronald Reagan’s, misused and abused the CIA, or at best neglected it. Only on September 12, 2001 did the Agency regain a mission. The CIA’s refurbished reputation, as a result of GWOT successes, is now in jeopardy in Libya.

Of course, the CIA will not refuse orders from Obama’s office to carry out covert action in Libya. But for anyone who understands the Bay of Pigs debacle, the political fallout, and the damage inflicted on the CIA, it is only right that we should fear the same damage and downward spiral from the upcoming Obama/Hillary Libyan covert action.

As I’ve advocated for some time now, the American political system needs to better vet our candidates. Barack Obama was allowed to pass through without providing basic details about his background. Is vetting of Republicans/conservative candidates any better?

Imad “David” Ramadan is running for the Republican nomination for the House of Delegates in Virginia’s 87^th district. After a few years of generous donations to Virginia Republicans, Ramadan made his move. Investing an estimated $500,000 in his campaign, hiring out-of-state consultants, and pulling the strings of his obligated donation recipients, Ramadan appeared to believe he is owed the seat.

A friend of mine, active in the Northern Virginia Tea Party asked me to look in Ramadan’s background. Just over 40 years old, Ramadan has lived in the US for about 20 years. Public records show that he arrived in the US, on a student visa, and never went back to Lebanon. He had married a fellow Lebanese and declared bankruptcy in 1994. Then he suddenly opened a business after 2001, and became an “international business consultant.” With no apparent business experience, he bragged on his website that he served “a select group of clients.” He claimed to be the head of a law firm (though he’s not a lawyer). He claimed to represent an American women’s gym chain in India and “the Middle East.”

On the streets of Beirut, it’s well known that Imad’s Lebanese wife, Ghanda Abdul Rahman Zoghbi is the daughter of Lebanese Army General Abdul Rahman Zoghbi. General Zoghbi, now retired was a Shia member of the General Security Service (GSS).

According to GlobalSecurity.org, the GSS is “one of Lebanon's three intelligence services and cooperates very closely with Syrian Intelligence. The duties of the General Security Service include identifying potential dissidents and maintaining internal and external national security. These broad objectives are primarily achieved though media censorship, control of foreign visitors, and active pursuit of banned parties and organizations. The General Security Service's wide range of powers and close relationship with Syrian Intelligence lead many to believe that it is behind the majority of mysterious disappearances that occur in Lebanon.”

Newspaper articles quote him bragging that he landed in Egypt during the revolution this spring, to sell women’s gym franchises. And yet, while his apparent business interests were all overseas, Imad Ramadan, was pouring donations into the Virginia Republican Party, and the Loudoun County Republican Committee.

After establishing those details, I told my friend that only Ramadan himself could clarify the questions about his background. My friend arranged to meet Ramadan.

The first thing that struck me about Imad Ramadan, when I met him on a July morning was how timid he was without a retinue. I’d arrived early, and greeted him with a handshake when he entered the café, by himself. He didn’t slow down, but kept moving, directly to the bathroom.

Fifteen minutes later, when he had yet to emerge, I realized that he was scared of me. Only later did I learn why. Finally, he emerged from the potty, at exactly the same time that two supporters arrived. He was comfortable enough to sit down, but not yet ready to talk. Moments later, another Ramadan man arrived, the former chairman of the Loudoun County Republican Committee, shaved head, air of disdain and all.

Now, Ramadan was ready to talk. And did he talk! First he let me know that he had my number! “Why did you bring him,” Ramadan said to my friend, gesturing at me, as if I was some sort of indelicate item the cat had dragged onto the porch. “I know he’s a CIA profiler,” Ramadan went on. Ah ha! Now he revealed two things--the depth of his ignorance first (there’s no such thing as a CIA profiler), but much more interestingly, the depth of his fear. I was immediately interested—what did he have to fear?

The conversation went downhill from there. In essence, Ramadan practiced the tactics that I recognize well from interviewing candidates and agents. The tactics are also practiced by covert action operators around the world, when their misdeeds are uncovered: Admit nothing. Deny everything. Make counter-accusations, or “Andemca.”

Ramadan’s diatribe began with accusations against shady “haters” with shady intentions of fund-raising who were making wild accusations against him. But he quickly shifted to accusations against his primary opponent, who my friend evidently supported.

After a long interchange of Ramadan attacking his opponent (issues included the church she attended, and topics of discussions at meetings she’d attended), I finally had to interrupt his diatribe. I explained that I did not know his opponent, but as a fellow conservative, I was concerned about Ramadan’s allegations of unfair accusations made against him. And that as a fellow Muslim, I was especially concerned about the religion-based attacks he claimed to suffer. I told him that I was interested in getting to the bottom of these issues, and that it would help me to understand his background.

Whoa! Another flash of fear. He decided that it was time to spring what he seemed to consider his ultimate weapon:  “So, are you a conservative?” Ramadan slyly asked me. “Of course,” I answered. He theatrically produced a smart phone. Peering at the screen, he asked “Did you vote in the 2008 Democrat primary?” I answered, “Sure did. It was Rush Limbaugh’s Operation Chaos. There was no contest in the Republican primary, so the idea was to disrupt Obama’s chances by voting for Hillary.”

But Ramadan had stopped listening after “Sure did.” He assumed an arrogant air of superiority and dismissed anything I had to say, playing to his assembled peanut gallery of supporters. This is one arrogant dude, I thought. Since I am not a politician, I have absolutely no need to put up with an arrogant attempt to besmirch me. Nor do I need to tolerate a patronizing attitude. I’ve lived too long, sacrificed too much, and fought too many enemies to put up with twaddle from a twit. 

He made me quite angry. His silly research to reveal that I’d voted in the Democrat primary didn’t bother me at all. I’m proud to have participated in the ingenious attempt to give the PC-Progressives a taste of their own medicine, since they had done the same to Republican primaries in other states.

What did make me angry was Ramadan’s air of superiority as he refused to make eye contact, dismissing me as a non-entity, under the pretense that my voting in the Democrat primary made me an unworthy interlocutor for someone of his stature.

To make a long story short, here’s my assessment of this Republican candidate. This assessment is based on nearly three decades of dealing with foreigners, many of whom meant to harm America, and many of whom attempted to deceive me. I’m an expert in deception detection, and in assessing personalities.

Mr. Ramadan is hiding something. I don’t know what it is. But he is unwilling to share very important details of his life. In my experience, those who practice “Andemca” include: PC-Progressives, criminals, intelligence agents, little children who’ve done something wrong, or others who have something to hide.

A sincere conservative candidate, who is suffering unfair, bigoted attacks would gladly help other conservatives understand his background and beliefs, so that they could help to counter the bigots. When that candidate instead practices inflammatory attacks and makes ridiculous accusations in response to a simple query about his background, the hackles on the back of my neck stand straight up. Something’s not right.

Ramadan, from what I can make out, is the scion of a Lebanese Shi’a family. He told me that his father paid for him to attend university in Virginia. It would be very interesting to hear more details about these issues. The Lebanese Shi’a are the backbone of the terrorist organization, Hezbollah (The Party of God).

Earlier this year, Congressman Darrell Issa (R, CA)  introduced the Hezbollah Anti-Terrorism Act. The act ensures that no American aid to Lebanon will enter the hands of Hezbollah. Congressman Issa said, "Hezbollah is a terrorist group and a cancer on Lebanon. The Hezbollah Anti-Terrorism Act surgically targets this cancer and will strengthen the position of Lebanese who oppose Hezbollah."

Evidently, Ramadan’s generous contributions, spread around liberally in Republican circles come from his “successful businesses.” Small women’s gyms are not known to generate much cash, so it would appear that Ramadan’s revenue stream must flow from his “international businesses.”

Since he refused to discuss any details about his background, all that’s known is that he has an interest in a “law firm,” maybe based in Lebanon. It seems that he is also active in “immigration consulting.” What is that? As someone who has interviewed hundreds of applicants, and made decisions on immigration matters, this interests me.

When I asked him directly about his own immigration experience, explaining that my wife and I had met as classmates when she was a foreign student, Ramadan blew a gasket. He launched into a classic Andemca tirade, culminating with, “You probably want to see my birth certificate, right? You’re a birther!” Turning to his friends he chortled, “He’s a birther!”

Who is David Ramadan? What is his real background? I wish I could tell you.

After the above experience, I was motivated to try to answer the question. After a couple weeks of due diligence, and the coincidental uncovering of a covert influence operation against American Republicans, not only do I not know who David Ramadan is, but now even more questions are unanswered.

Part 2: Questions for David Ramadan—Who is Imad “David” Ramadan?

Imad Afif Ramadan (aka: “David” Ramadan) is a native of  Blat, Lebanon. He is a Shia Muslim. Shia is a sect of Islam. In Blat, Shia Muslims are split evenly between Hezbollah and Amal supporters.

In Lebanon, there are two main Shia political and military factions. Each is financed and supported by a foreign power, Iran or Syria. Both have used terrorist tactics against their enemies.

The Amal (Hope) movement is financed and directed by the Syrian dictator. Hezbollah (the Party of God) is financed and directed by the Iranian Shia Islamic Republic.

By the time Imad (“David”) Ramadan was 19, when he left his native Lebanon, Amal and Hezbollah were heavily engaged in a horribly destructive civil war. But Hezbollah and Amal sometimes cooperate. In 1985, when Imad Ramadan was 15, Lebanese Shia terrorists hijacked TWA flight 847.

After murdering US Navy diver, passenger Robert Stethem, the Hezbollah hijackers forced TWA 847 to Beirut. The remaining passengers were removed from the plane and distributed throughout the city. Hezbollah carried out the hijacking, but Amal imprisoned the hostages, hiding them in safehouses in Shia areas of Beirut. Sixteen year-old Imad Ramadan claims he was going to school in Beirut that year.

Imad Ramadan, on his campaign website, lists his business experience. He says he “travels extensively to Bahrain, Egypt, India, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).”

Imad also says that he is the “Chairman of RAMA Legal; a boutique Law Firm specializing in Corporate Law, Intellectual Property, Franchising, and Real Estate servicing the Middle East.”

Imad also claims to be CEO of two women’s gym franchising companies, one in India, and one in the “Middle East.”

In Imad’s recent campaign mailing to the district, he claimed that his family, “scraped together” money to send him to America for school. Yet Lebanese sources report that the Ramadan family in Lebanon is quite wealthy. Imad’s father, Afif, was a lawyer. Afif  opened a chain of clothing stores in Dahya, in the southern suburbs of Beirut,  on Moawad Street by Bir el Abed-Chyah. Dahya is currently the command & control center of Hezbollah in Beirut. Afif is known to travel frequently between Dahya and America.

Imad claims to have been a busy student since he arrived in the USA in 1989. He claims that he completed both a BA and an MA at George Mason University in Virginia, finishing in 1994. But that was not enough schooling for Imad. On his business website Imad claims that he also “completed graduate studies at Oxford University (Oxford, England), the American Graduate School of Business (Geneva, Switzerland), Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD) and Georgetown University (Washington DC).”

With no apparent business activity in Virginia, the source of Ramadan’s apparent wealth seems to be foreign. It seems that his background, his interests, his business, his clients, are all overseas.

Imad’s timeline in America is murky at best. He claims that he arrived in 1989, as a student. On his LinkedIn profile, he claims that he has been active in Virginia Republican politics since 1989. Foreign students are strictly prohibited from participating in American politics.

Imad’s citizenship status is murky as well. According to public records, Imad Ramadan married a fellow Lebanese, Ghanda Abdul Rahman Zoghbi on Dec. 30, 1994, in Alexandria, Virginia, while he was a graduate student. Just the month before, in Nov. 1994, court records show that Imad Ramadan declared bankruptcy.

Imad claims that he is now (2011) married to “Christie Wray” of Franklin, Virginia. Efforts to find evidence of Imad’s divorce from his first wife, the daughter of a Lebanese military intelligence general, were unsuccessful.

To continue what appears to be a pattern, Imad’s current residence location is unclear too.

Naturalized American citizen Syed Ghulam Nabi Fai, was arrested in Alexandria, Virginia in July 2011. The FBI charged Nabi Fai was an “unregistered agent” of a foreign, Muslim intelligence service, or a spy.

Americans must be aware of covert foreign influence in our political system. Mr. Fai’s apparently decades-long scheme had one purpose — to hide foreign involvement in Fai’s efforts to influence U.S. government policies. A foreign government intelligence service funneled millions through Fai so he could contribute to U.S. elected officials. His largest identified donations went to the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

I am an expert at detecting deception. One of the signs of lying is attacking a questioner. This is a favorite tactic of PC-Progressives. Imad (“David”) Ramadan demonstrated this tactic when I tried to ask him questions in person. Imad apparently had something to hide, because he made wild accusations, and refused to carry on a conversation.

If I had the chance to talk to Imad again, here are some questions that would help Virginia’s voters better understand this enigma from Blat:

·         What is Imad’s connection to the Lebanese intelligence service, the GSS? Does he meet with, report to, or otherwise have communications with the Lebanese intelligence service?

·         Does Imad meet with, report to, or have any other communications with any foreign intelligence services?

·         Does Imad meet with, report to, or have any other relationship with his father-in-law, the Lebanese intelligence officer?

·         What is Imad’s connection to Lebanon now? Does Imad still have a Lebanese passport? Does he have any other passport besides an American one? Which passport does Imad Ramadan use to travel to the Middle East?

·         When and how did Imad become an American citizen? Was his first wife a US citizen?

·         What happened to the first Mrs. Ramadan? Where is she now?

·         Where and when did he marry Christie Wray?

·         What were the circumstances of Imad’s 1994 bankruptcy? Why would a foreign student declare bankruptcy in America? If he was going to college, what debts did he run up?

·         Since he repudiated his debts in 1994, how did he finance his further studies in Switzerland, England, Baltimore and DC? How did he raise money for his businesses?

·         Are Imad and his family aligned with the Shia terrorist group Hezbollah? Or is Imad aligned with the Shia militia Amal?

·         Does Imad receive funding from Lebanon? How much and from whom?

·         Does Imad receive funding from other Middle Eastern countries? How much and from whom?

·         Who are Imad’s customers in other Middle Eastern countries?

·         Has Imad ever acted as a registered, or unregistered, agent of a foreign government? If so, which government?

·         Where do Imad’s loyalties lie? In his home country, in his clients’ countries, or in America?

·         Where exactly does Imad live? How long has he lived in the 87^th district?

It’s unlikely that I’ll ever have another chance to ask Imad these questions. But if anyone else has a chance, it would be interesting to hear his answers.

Vetting of candidates for American public office is crucial. Democrats have historically been lax in allowing foreign influence to creep into their campaigns. In 1996, 22 people were convicted of covert influence activities—fraud, foreign funding of the Clinton/Gore campaign. Several others fled the country. Republicans and conservatives expect our candidates to hold to a higher standard.

Is the Syed Ghulam Nabi Fai case an aberration? Is Imad Ramadan following the new template?

Is foreign influence in Republican campaigns to be expected from now on?

Unprecedented is putting it mildly. A strong ally in the global war on terror, Libya’s former strongman, Moammar al-Gaddafi, renounced his weapons of mass destruction program after he saw America’s resolve and military power in Afghanistan and Iraq. He surrendered two terrorist suspects for trial. Gaddafi was a tiger who changed his stripes—a reviled international pariah, he became a strong partner in the war on terror.  

What was his reward for nearly a decade of cooperation with us? An American-led revolution. The Obama-Hillary clique called their little revolution a NATO mission to insure human rights. Nice word-smithing by the PC-Progressive war-mongers.

Call it what you will, Hillary and her estrogen-drunk cabal at State dragged the US into a civil war (President Obama: “No American boots on the ground.”). The height of duplicity by the PC-Progressives in this unprecedented American-led war might best be measured by comparing the ravings of the same PC-Progressives against the wars that George Bush led. Let’s look at some of the PC-Progressive rants against Iraq and Afghanistan: 

“No blood for oil.” Remember that quaint PC –Progressive chant during the Iraq War? Well, in case you haven’t noticed, the Libyan war really is blood for oil. We’re tangled up in Europe’s green nightmare. They don’t have enough oil. Windmills and solar are a joke. They need oil. Libya sits on huge reserves. Solution? Blood for oil! Only problem is, the blood is spilled for oil shipments to Italy and France.

“It’s a civil war.” Democrats demanded that the US withdraw from Iraq because “it is now a civil war.” Well, the Libyan war has been a civil war from the first Obama-launched cruise missile to the latest strike on a Gaddafi compound. A civil war in Libya is okay, but one in Iraq is not?

“Arrogance.” Obama’s teleprompter told him one time to say that Bush was arrogant, dismissive, even derisive toward our allies. Sending volleys of cruise missiles down an ally’s chimneys is probably as arrogant, dismissive and derisive as you can get.

“No exit strategy.” Remember the Progressive geniuses who constantly chided the Bush administration and its dunces for not foreseeing every twist and turn as the Iraq and Afghanistan wars unfolded? Many of them are now in the Obama-Hillary administration. Yes, the same administration that has just realized that the “freedom fighters” they’ve supported in Libya are actually al-Qaeda linked Islamic extremists. “We’ll thump Gaddafi and then let al-Qaeda take over.” How’s that for an exit strategy?

“Cowboy Bush going it alone.” PC-Progressives moaned and whined constantly that President Bush was a rogue international operator, invading Iraq alone, with no international support. In fact, Bush assembled a multi-national force in Iraq, made up of units from dozens of countries. The multi-national force held daily press briefings to provide details of operations. The Libyan operation is cloaked in secrecy and the legacy media erected a wall of silence to protect Obama-Hillary. No details leak out about the foreign forces involved in the civil war. Foreign troops are invisible. Even the composition of the Libyan rebels has been cloaked by the media. Only now do the media dare to report mujahedeen in the ranks.

“Dumb war.” During his stint at a state senator, Barack said, “I don't oppose all wars... What I am opposed to is a dumb war.” The wise international theorist from Illinois then went on to derisively call Bush’s experts “weekend warriors” who arrogantly shoved “their own ideological agendas down our throats, irrespective of the costs in lives lost and in hardships borne.” Now that Obama sits on the throne in the West Wing, the whole weekend warrior issue is passé. Obama’s geniuses, that is Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice, and Samantha Power, between them don’t even qualify as weekend warriors. More like a sorority rush hit squad. And their ideological agenda? It’s not clear that they are weighing lives lost and hardships borne in their mad dash to destabilize North Africa.

“War crimes, human rights violations.” PC-Progressives constantly filled the airwaves of NPR, ABC, NBC and the other legacy media, as well as the digital pipes at Huffington Post and MoveOn.org  with allegations of American war crimes and violations of human rights in Iraq. In Libya, based on public reporting, there seem to be no human rights violations, only clean hits on military objectives. Or is this just legacy media covering up for their darlings?  

 “Pre-emptive strikes are unconstitutional, against international law.” The chorus of PC-Progressives calling for Bush’s impeachment, Rumsfeld’s arrest for war crimes, and Cheney’s immediate execution for crimes against humanity rose to a crescendo during the Iraq invasion. The mere idea of an “aggressive war,” attacking a helpless nation before it attacked us, was deemed “Hitlerian.” Well, how does that little mustache look on Obama’s lip? Obama-Hillary justified the massive air-strikes against Gaddafi on “humanitarian” grounds. Regardless, Gaddafi had not attacked America. Obama’s Libyan war is a perfect example of a pre-emptive strike.

There is more hypocrisy in the Libyan desert, but you get the drift. American Willing Accomplices executed a perfect switch from pacifism to war-mongering when Nazi tanks invaded Russia in 1941. Just so, American PC-Progressives neatly “pivoted” from their hatred of war, bombs, missiles, death (during the Bush administration), and abandoned their pitiful demonstrations for human rights, non-aggression, and international understanding. Under Obama-Hillary, the loving lambs have morphed into blood-thirsty she-wolves.

When the American military, commanded by Normal Americans, acts for American interests, the Obama-Hillary clique were against the actions. Yet, when the American military, commanded by PC-Progressives, attacked in support of unclear internationalist interest and to secure cheap European oil, PC-Progressives are all for a little death and destruction. As I predicted the day after his election, Obama and his radical clique are hell-bent on destroying the traditional USA. Stymied in their overt attempts—ObamaCare, trillion-dollar stimulus deficit spending, financial reforms—they’ve resorted to covert actions. This is their comfort zone—lie, obfuscate, cover-up, excuse, deny, make counter-accusations.

PC-Progressives are liars by profession. They cannot reveal their true beliefs. If they did, they would be run out of the country on a rail. So they lie, obfuscate, conceal. Thus, PC-Progressives take very well to official covert actions.

Covert action requires lying. The lying is officially sanctioned. The Obama administration, the most radical anti-American administration in history is immersed now in official lying—covert actions in Yemen, Pakistan, Egypt, Libya, Mexico. What will the end game be? God help us.

Eric Holder, no stranger to counter-constitutional measures is being slowly encircled by constitutional investigations. The subpoena he dreaded arrived in his office this week.

A manufactured crisis leading to war is the only way out for these malefactors. Like their role model, FDR, they believe that the only way for their Keynesian economics to heal the country is to destroy it. The only atonement for America’s imagined past sins is to wash them away in blood—oceans of blood. As their castles in the air dissolve, both domestically and internationally, the only possible PC-Progressive response is to start a war—the bigger, the better.

Just like their ideological fathers, Lenin and Stalin, the Obama-Holder-Hillary clique must instigate international turmoil to distract from domestic man-made disasters.

What better way to instigate turmoil than an FBI-DEA entrapment operation? Convince a poor schmuck Iranian with ties to the Ayatollah’s regime that he’s dealing with big-wig narcos. Talk him into a big operation—“let’s whack the Saudi ambassador! That’s the ticket!” Get him talking about the operation on tape. Then, when needed, publicize the bust, fan the flames of hysteria.

Presto! Change-o! Headlines about corruption, cronyism, perjury, selling firearms to Mexican drug dealers, loner Obama, loser Holder, Hillary biding her time, Republicans surging, whacko-PC-Progressives drumming and defecating on Wall Street—all fade away.

Manufacture a crisis. Publicize it. Fan the flames. Beat the drums for war. Who can resist? Conservative war-hawks are drawn in. The PC-Progressives, now that they command the military, are all for it.

Ever hear of the Tonkin Gulf incident? PC-Progressives have experience at this little game.

The more things change. Gird your loins—this will not be clean, or pretty.

NPR's Enviro-Whacko Scare Agitation Propaganda

Business trips are a treat for me. I get to watch cable TV. Fox Movie Channel and Swamp People on the Discovery channel. Since the transition to digital broadcast, we get more than 40 channels from a good antenna in the attic. But these cable only channels provide some interesting programming that we don't usually get.

Unfortunately, this morning I made the mistake of clicking past NPR. No fund-raising babbling. A "science" program, though. Lester Brown's Mobilizing to Save Civilization. Narrated by that brilliant science mind, Matt Damon. Featuring brilliant "scientific" insight by brilliant "scientists," including the New York Times' Thomas Friedman, an economist. Veterinarian Steve Osofsky of the Wildlife Conservation Society.

And not to forget the somehow renowned Lester Brown. The opening of the show followed Brown from make-up to the set. Brown sat down on the blue screen set, and began furiously blinking while intoning standard global warming doomsday agitation propaganda.

Brown's stunning lack of self-awareness is displayed in his opening monologue about a trip he took to China recently (evidently one of many globe trotting adventures he takes on carbon spewing jetliners).

Evidently, Brown's science methodology is as advanced as other NPR agit-propagandists like Lonnie Thompson. NPR's Thompson-led hit piece in September 2010 focused on his visit to a glacier in Indonesia. In his two weeks there, rain melted 12 inches of the glacier. Lonnie took this rate of melting, and predicted that the glacier would dissappear soon.

Lonnie's amazing "science," based on his personal observations of an exotic location, while on a federally subsidized "global warming science" expedition, was laughable. The real news was that there was a glacier 4 degrees from the equator at all! A quick check of the weather report for that glacier, on the day that the NPR story was published, showed 30 inches of snow were forecast in the next 5 days.

But Lonnie wasn't there to see that snow, and those facts don't fit NPR's Chicken Little panic, so those facts didn't make it into NPR's story. Only Lonnie's solemn intoning that "glacier's going to dissappear in as little as five years if that rate continues."

And now, Lester Brown, another cadaverous, grey NPR fake scientist who thinks the world is ending dying because of the sins of humankind, harangues us to destroy our economy, devastate our way of life, and otherwise destroy the fruit of generations of real scientists and engineers.

Like nearly all of NPR's Luddite haters of capitalist progress, Brown displays no evident understanding of the exquisite irony of his idiotic "scientific" rants.

Brown's opening rant is what he and the producers must believe is an illustrative parable. Brown tells of flying to China, and we see him sitting in a huge business or first class seat, straining to see out the window. His narration explains that his flight took the polar route. During his first class, carbon-spewing luxurious 12 hour earth-destroying ego-boosting flight, Brown said that he looked out the window and observed the polar ice. Flying at 35,000 feet above the earth, Brown claimed that he noticed that there were disturbing fissures across "most of the ice."

Much like the despicable Lonnie's equatorial glacier observations, this creepy Brown, who is a farmer, not a scientist at all, seems to believe that their silly personal observations can be generalized. The plural of anecdote is not data. Evidently the idiots at NPR believe that anecdotes shared by skinny gray dudes will somehow convince the rest of us to hop on bicycles and stop taking first class jet trips around the world.

Of course, NPR and its elitist cadavers won't stop their carbon-heavy jet-setting. They need to collect more silly personal stories that can be dramatized for NPR's gullible PC-Progressives.

The sooner we can defund this foolish PC-Progressive scare-mongering, fund-raising, the-sky-is-falling clique, the better.

Warmist Guru Dr Field--Sucking up Big Bucks from Big Oil

Chris Field, the co-chair of an Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) working group told a St. Louis paper that American money spent on the IPCC "is a very good deal for the governments and for the world."

Field, echoed the recent warming alarmist party line of communicating better. He said he and the other smart people like him need to explain the science better to those less fortunate.

And he said "the scientific community" should be more nurturing and help "people understand" both the importance of the IPCC, and "how science works."

Field may be hiding a bit of information that might help us "understand how his science" is paid for.

Field is burrowed into something at Stanford called the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (FSI). At FSI he is working on an "FSE Project." It's not clear what FSE is, but...the project "is a thorough assessment of the climate consequences of converting landscapes from their previous uses to biofuels."

An initial review of Field's background and snout in the trough seems identical to any number of "climate scientists" (Field's scientific background is Biological Sciences. His PhD research was on Leaf Aging in a California Shrub) sucking off the National Academy of Sciences, NASA, NOAA, and other government teats.

Their use of government grant money allows them to maintain their ideological purity. Their purity allows them to criticize any critics as "shills for Big Oil," the standard warmist put-down.

Well, Dr Field has got some 'splaining to do, Ricky.

The FSE project is funded by the Global Climate Energy Program (or Project, they use both on different websites).

And where does GCEP get its money? "About Us" reveals "The Sponsors" are : ExxonMobil, General Electric, Schlumberger, and Toyota!

In fact, "The Project's sponsors will invest a total of $225 million" in this Green boondoggle. Sort of like hush money--pay off the IPCC chairs and they'll leave you alone?

While General Electric is a Global Warming shill, the other three must certainly be in the man-made global warming hall of shame.

The enviro-whackos' constant refrain when criticized is: "You are a paid tool of Big Oil."

As Field said in his interview with the St Louis paper, "I don't get any salary from the IPCC."

No, Dr. Field but you do get a salary from Big Oil!

Cairo Meddler--Czar Brennan Needs to Go

The Failed Puppet-master: Fire John Brennan

Late Thursday morning, President Obama’s CIA Director, Leon Panetta (a former Congressman and White House Chief of Staff with zero intelligence community experience) testified to the House Intelligence Committee that Egyptian President Mubarak “will step down this evening.”

 
Four hours later, Mubarak publicly announces that he is not stepping down, and that he rejected “any and all dictations from abroad,” in a direct slap-down of Obama and his minions.

At the same hearing with Panetta, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), James Clapper opined that the Egyptian-based Islamic extremist group, the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), was “largely secular.”

Five days previously, Obama’s hand-picked envoy to Egypt, Frank Wisner, after visiting the country, said that Mubarak must remain in power to manage the transition. Obama immediately retracted that statement, and Wisner disappeared.

Unfortunately, we would be lucky if it were only Panetta, Clapper, and Wisner mucking around. The big story is the Obama lackey we have not seen since the Maghreb Mutinies began, Obama’s Czar for Terrorism, and de facto intelligence chief, John Brennan.

Brennan has sought out TV cameras at every opportunity since January 2009. He popped up to talk about any issue dealing with intelligence, terrorism, Arabs, or Islam. He took it upon himself to declare the words “war on terrorism, jihad, global war” off limits. He trumpeted his “summer in Indonesia,” (like the President!), his semester abroad in Cairo, and his CIA station chief experience in “the region.”

Burrowing into his lair on Pennsylvania Avenue, Brennan gathered the strings of the national intelligence infrastructure and became the intel bureaucracy puppet master. Hapless generals passed through the DNI position, each undermined by Brennan, perched next to his idol’s throne, whispering in Obama’s ear. Remember DNI Clapper telling Diane Sawyer he didn’t know about “London.” Who quickly chimed in with the proper answer? Why, it was Brennan—showing up the titular head of American intelligence.  

To understand the Brennan shadow play going on behind the scenes in Egypt, you first must understand the man—he is a CIA analyst. To understand the man, you must understand the culture of the bureaucracy that he ascended from—the CIA’s Directorate of Intelligence (DI), the nation’s intelligence analysis belly button—and the type of person that culture produces.

A CIA analyst’s life is like being in grad school, forever. Just like an academic, the analyst is evaluated on his record of “publications.” Just like an academic, the analyst spends his time researching, writing, defending his work to committees, and trying to get his writing published. The big difference is that a CIA analyst has more resources, classified intelligence reports from operators around the world that an academic does not have. Otherwise, a CIA is a virtual clone of an academic.

Just as in academia, the point of the exercise (creating finished intelligence to guide U.S. policy makers) becomes lost in academic politics, backstabbing, ass kissing, and internecine scheming. Just as in academia, CIA analysts who want to move up yearn for a position closer to the seat of bureaucratic power.

An analyst’s most treasured professional accomplishment is to have a hand in the Presidential Daily Brief (PDB). An article published in the PDB can be the crowning achievement of an analyst’s career. Circling the flame of power, like calculating moths, they try to get closer. The ultimate career position for a CIA analyst is to be the President’s Briefer, the guy who carries the PDB in to the President every morning. If an analyst is allowed to do that only once in his lifetime, he can die happy, fulfilled. He’s been to the mountaintop.

The other point that you must understand about analysts is what they are not. CIA analysts, regardless of what you’ve read or seen in Tom Clancy movies, are not spies. They do not manage spies. They do not recruit spies. They do not handle spies. They are not covert operators. They do not uncover secrets. They do not fast-rope from Blackhawks.

They sit in cubicles and research and write. Then they argue among themselves about what each other has written. Then they brief others on their articles. Then they do that again. And again, and again, and again. Because of the dreary reality of their lives, the analysts are allowed large budgets for travel. They travel to the countries in their portfolio, on boondoggle familiarization trips—which are more like vacations.

Many CIA analysts join the Agency believing the Tom Clancy hype. Once they learn what their job is, they can become bitter. And they can succumb to envy—of the operators who do recruit spies, travel the world under cover, meet and befriend exotic people, and plan and execute clandestine operations. There is a definite culture of envy in the CIA’s DI.

Because of this envy, occasionally, when the CIA goes through one of its bouts of self-destructiveness, the director of the CIA appoints an analyst, to be the chief of an overseas operational station. And when a presidential administration is extremely anti-CIA, like the Clintons, it appoints an analyst to be in charge of the entire Directorate of Operations.

John Brennan is a CIA analyst. In his mind, he is the Tom Clancy hero—the analyst fast-roping into a crisis, sub-machine gun locked and loaded, ready to respond. But in reality, he is an academic with sharply honed in-fighting claws, ready to rip to shreds a rival’s analytical piece so that his will be published.

Brennan clawed his way to the top of the analytical pile—he was President Clinton’s PDB briefer. During the Bush presidency, he burrowed into the CIA bureaucracy, snuggling up to Clinton appointee DCI Tenet. He finished his career by standing up the failure-prone Terrorist Threat Integration Center (TTIC) and the National Counter-terrorism Center (NCTC), both of which were supposed to “connect the dots,” which analysts failed to connect before the 9/11 attacks.

Brennan retired from NCTC and joined an intelligence contractor. NCTC then awarded his firm a contract to provide connect-the-dots analytical software. In the Christmas Day “panties-bomber” failed terrorist attack, NCTC, using Brennan’s software, failed to connect the dots. Obama assigned Brennan to investigate the failure. Sweet work, if you can get it.

Now he’s used those nasty analytical academic skills to worm his way into the clueless White House’s foreign policy and intelligence inner sanctum. He hitched his wagon to Obama’s star early, and has ridden it far. Nestled into his office in the White House, an analyst’s nirvana, he has jealously built his intelligence empire. He is the de facto DNI, DCIA, and director of covert operations. Like a corrupt Turkish eunuch, manipulating a callow crown prince, he whispers in his ruler’s ear and rivals disappear.

This background brings us up to today. The morning after Mubarak told Obama to leave Egypt alone, after the DNI said the MB is sort of like Knights of Columbus, after the DCIA said he’s watching CNN and it looks like Mubarak will resign.

Where is John Brennan? Since the uprising began in Tunisia, until today, John Brennan has not appeared on national TV once. Now that you know his background, it should be easy to guess, as I’m doing. I don’t have any inside knowledge, but I’d bet that our hero Brennan is ensconced in a five-star suite in Cairo, running what he believes is a cunning covert influence operation. My guess is that Mubarak’s rejection of “dictations from abroad” should have been “dictations from John Brennan.”

This massive cluster-failure of a foreign policy looks like an amateur operation, run by a wannabe operator. The one personality in the Obama administration that fits that description is John Brennan.

Egypt today is no place for a “semester abroad expert” political analyst to be allowed free rein. Obama, fire John Brennan today. Let the DNI that you and your party craved do his work. You have a huge intelligence collection and analysis infrastructure idling while Brennan plays his egomaniacal games.

Do the right thing. Bring Brennan back out of the shadows and put him to pasture. Let professionals do the job.
